Hello bookworms!
How on earth is it May already?! Insane how fast this year is going.
I didn’t get as much reading done in April as I wanted, I’m a little behind on my Goodreads goal. I will have some catching up to do this month!
*Messy Roots by Laura Gao

I was kindly sent this graphic memoir by Harper YA + Pride Book Tours as part of their Bookstagram tour. I enjoyed this much more than I thought. The graphic novel format was surprisingly perfect for non-fiction!

Full review is over on my Bookstagram.
Supernova by Marissa Meyer (audiobook)

Finished up the Renegades trilogy. It was a good ending to a great series. I really enjoy each of the books. I wish there were more books in this world!

My Evil Mother by Margaret Atwood

This was free on Amazon Prime, so I thought I’d give it a go.
I ended up really enjoying this short story! Definitely worth a read if you have Prime and like Margaret Atwood. It’s a bit witchy and weird but enjoyable.

*The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake (audiobook)

The biggest disappointment of 2022 goes to…
Wow, I did not expect to hate this book but here we are!
I will have a full review up shortly, I have some very unpopular opinions about this one. I fully expected it to be a 5 Star/new fave after seeing the reviews but I was less than impressed.

What did you read in April?
I didn’t get on with The Atlas Six either. Was hard to work out why it’s been hyped so hard – good marketing I expect!

It was actually self-published with virtually no publicity then it blew up on Tiktok, so basically Tiktok marketed the book.

I also enjoyed My Evil Mother! Atwood is one of my favourite authors. I’m looking forward to your review of The Atlas Six. That is also one of my most disappointing books of 2022. wow.
