Binge-Worthy YA Books! #1

Hey guys! Happy Saturday 🙂
I have been doing a lot of reviews lately since I’ve been in uni I pre-wrote a lot of posts before I started and most of them were reviews; I thought I’d change it up today.
I finally had a little time to write so I thought I’d give some recommendations!

If I have reviews for any of the books mentioned they’ll be linked! If you click on the title it will take you to the Goodreads page of the first book so you can read the synopsis if you’d like.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

Now all the books are out in the Throne of Glass series, it would be a perfect time to binge them. SJM is a master at addictive writing and creating great characters that you are instantly invested in.

The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

2018-10-27 02.24.29 1.jpg

Her beautiful writing style is just a dream to read. The characters are so relatable and flawed but you just love them? The friendship between all the character is just lovely and makes you wish you were part of the gang.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

2018-10-27 02.24.28 1.jpg

Laini Taylor’s beautiful lyrical and descriptive writing style is so unique and amazing, it’s an absolute dream to read. I flew through these books, they’re addictive and the characters are just great. This is probably the only time I’ve enjoyed insta-love and heavy romance. I was rooting for the relationships from start to finish.

Review of the whole series

Graceling by Kristin Cashore

2018-10-27 02.24.26 1.jpg

Underrated series! I love the world in these books, it’s such a cool concept and I wish there were more. Each book is a standalone kinda, but they all fit together and are brought together in book 3.  Hardly anyone talks about these books anymore but they’re so cool and definitely worth a read!

Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell

2018-10-27 02.24.25 1.jpg

This is such a fun series, I cannot rave enough about these books!
I listened to the first two on audiobook, which was an amazing experience; the narrator is SO good at doing the voices. It was like a full-on performance, I highly recommend the audiobooks, if you’re looking for a new one! I was lucky enough to get books 3 + 4 as ARCs! I have reviews for these which I will link:

Reading List for Class on YA| Top 5 Wednesday

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme, GoodReads group here with all the topics + discussion!
This weeks topic is; Book List for Class on YA
This week topic is pretty cool, in honour of going ‘back to school’ this week we’re making a class reading list on a topic/genre of our choice.
I thought I would take this opportunity to recommend some YA books from different genres!

1) YA Feminist
Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu

Every class should have to read a feminist novel, in my opinion. It is an extremely important message to share and I feel Moxie does that well!

2) YA Fantasy
Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell

Everyone likes a good fantasy, right? Sebastien De Castell was a new author to me this year. I picked up Spellslinger on a whim, not knowing anything about it and ended up loving it!

Simon vs The Homosapien Agenda by Becki Albertali

Another important message; LGBT. Unfortunately, I haven’t read a lot of it, which I need to change but my favourite so far is Simon vs. It’s such a cute story and a must read in the LGBT genre!

4) YA Sci-fi
The Illuminae Files by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

The Illuminae Files
are definitely some of my favourite sci-fi books, the unique format and fast paced plot is amazing. However, I have yet to read the final book, I know, I know, I need to get on it asap!

5) YA Romance
A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard

If you’re looking for a cute, fluffy romance, then I highly recommend this. It is a seriously adorable story that even warmed my cold heart.
