The Three Ws are:

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

You’re probably all sick of seeing Jay Kristoff on every WWW Wednesday I post but here he is again. (lol) So far I’m enjoying Godsgrave, I love Mia as a character and I can’t wait to see where the story goes!

I’m also reading Teenage Writings by Jane Austen.
This is for a class I’m taking this semester, which hasn’t started yet, but I thought I’d get ahead with my required reading.

I FINALLY FINISHED!
Man, I’ve been in such a slump since late August, I almost DNF’d Nevernight but I am glad I didn’t! I’m glad I pushed through because I ended up really enjoying it. It took me a long time to get into and a long time to read (because of the slump) but it was worth it.
Will post a full review soon.

Currently Reading:

Nothing. I am about to start: The Good Luck by Charlotte Nicole Davis as I impatiently wait for Godsgrave.

I have been meaning to read this for ages, it’s appeared on many WWW Wednesday’s – I am finally reading it now I’ve seemed to break my slump.

Reading Next:

Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff (DUH)

Obviously, I will be reading Darkdawn after, I hear Godsgrave ends on quite the cliffhanger. So glad all the books are now out!

WWW-Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!

Sorry, for the lack of posts/replies to comments.
I moved to uni on Sunday and my place still doesn’t have Wifi 😦 It’s been such a pain.
I’ve currently gone back home just to use wifi, luckily, my mum’s isn’t super far from my uni flat.

I am still reading Nevernight from last week.

Recently Finished:
Nothing 😦
I’ve been super busy packing for uni and moving into my new place that I haven’t been reading at all. My insomnia has been really bad lately, too. I can’t read as much when my insomnia is playing up as my concentration isn’t good.
Reading Next:
I’ll probably read Godsgrave then Darkdawn next. I am actually getting into Nevernight and enjoying it now, it took me a while but I’m getting there! I’m sure after I’m done I’ll want to pick up the next two and binge the series.

Happy Wednesday!
Welcome to my first ever WWW Wednesday!

This tag/meme is hosted on Taking on a World of Words. It’s a super simple meme, you just answered the three W questions.

What do you think you’ll read next?

What I am currently reading:
Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

2019-05-18 03.20.44 1.jpg

Finally, getting around to reading this!! It has been sitting on my shelf for far too long. I’ve been in a huge sci-fi mood lately, so it’s perfect timing.

What I Recently Finished:

Nyxia by Scott Reintgen (audiobook)

Image result for nyxia audiobook
This was my audiobook for my holiday, I listened to it while travelling and it was really interesting. I think it was a solid start to a series and will definitely be continuing!
Review coming soon!

No Big Deal by Bethany Rutter*

20190618_155241.jpg

Despite being in a sci-fi mood, I decided to take a contemporary on holiday with me too.
This was such a nice, quick read – perfect for my holiday! I flew through it.
It was a good read, though I had a few problems. Will discuss more in my review, which will be coming soon.

What I Might Read Next:

The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli (audiobook)

Image result for the upside of unrequited audiobook
This has become available at my library so I will definitely be listening to this next!
I loved Simon Vs but have never read anything else by Becky Albertalli – which I clearly need to fix. It’s not a super long audiobook, hoping to get through it pretty quick.

As for non-audiobooks, I have no idea what I’m going to be in the mood for after Skyward.
But potentially it could be:

Limited Wish by Mark Lawerence

Currently Reading + Mid-April TBR

Hey guys!
Haven’t posted in a bit thought I’d put out a quick post today and let you know I’m not gone! It was the last week of the semester last week, so I was pretty busy. (and forgot to prewrite and schedule posts)
Hopefully, I can post consistently now uni is over! I do have finals to do but I will have more free time since I get to pick my study schedule and I don’t have to travel to uni 5 days a week, woo!

Currently Reading:

40383616[Gifted]

I am currently reading One Word Kill by Mark Lawrence. The premise is really interesting and it’s pretty short. Super quick and easy to read so far! Will have a review up for this when I finish it!

I feel like I might be going into a slump. So who knows if I’ll read any of these. Keeping my hopes up that I can stop the slump! Make sure to check out my wrap up at the end of the month to see whether I make it through any of these (haha).

April TBR

Other Words For Smoke by Sarah Marie Griffin

I am intrigued by this book, the cover is beautiful and the premise is interesting. Hopefully, it won’t disappoint!

The Seven Husband’s of Evelyn Hugo

33289074

I finally bought a copy! (Kindle 99p!) So, I am finally going to read this book. I have heard non-stop amazing things about this book, if it doesn’t blow my mind I will be seriously disappointed.

I’m waiting for this to become available from my library. I currently don’t have an audiobook and I’m desperate for one! Lately, I am mostly consuming books via audio as it is much more convenient!

Current Reads + March TBR 2019

Hey Guys!
Thought I’d update on my reading. I don’t usually do posts like this but I definitely think I should do more! I never do TBR posts usually, due to the fact I feel pressured into reading those books and I’m a huge mood reader. I usually don’t pick my book until I need it.
However, this month I have a few I definitely want to pick up!

I’m currently reading/listening to three books!

Currently listening to:

City of Ghosts by Victoria Schwab

Image result for city of ghosts victoria schwab audio

Cress by Marissa Meyer

Image result for cress audiobook

Currently Reading:

The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins
(This is for a class at uni)

867638

Onto what else I want (+have) to read this month!

For uni I have to read:

  • Mrs Warren’s Profession by Bernard Shaw (play)
  • A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Wolf
  • A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry (play)
  • The Bloody Chamber and other stories by Angela Carter
  • The Zoo Story by Edward Albee (play)

Yikes! Wish me luck…

Books for pleasure:

  • The Near Witch by V.E Schwab – I going to V.E Schwab’s book signing on Monday (SO EXCITED) So, I’m trying to read as many as her books as I can. (Plus, I was sent The Near Witch for review so I need to get on that asap!)
  • Winter by Marissa Meyer  (audiobook)- Once I finish Cress I know I’ll want to pick this up straight away. I am LOVING this series. Hopefully, the audiobook will be available when I’m done with Cress. (Fingers crossed!) This last audiobook is pretty damn long, so I don’t know if it’ll be in my March wrap up.

Considering I’ve been in a slump for months now, this TBR is quite ambitious.  Hopefully, I won’t struggle too much! Audiobooks have been my saviour, I am loving them at the moment. So convenient for me when travelling/doing uni work.

Let me know what you’re reading/planning to read, I’d love to know!

Book Wish List (aka books I desperately need) | Top 5 Wednesday

top5weds
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme, GoodReads group here with all the topics + discussion!
This week’s topic is: Book Wish List

Six of Crows Collectors Edition by Leigh Bardugo

This is just so beautiful. Look it at. It even has red sprayed pages??!! So beautiful.
So many collectors editions of books I love have just come out.
Maybe, I’ll be lucky enough to get this for Christmas. (Please Santa)

Graceling 10th Anniversary Edition by Kristin Cashore

Image result for Graceling

Graceling was one of the first YA series I read because of the online book community, it will forever have a special place in my heart. It’s its 10 year anniversary and they release this beautiful edition of it. Which I desperately need.

Star Wars: Women of the Galaxy

I love Star Wars, especially the Star Wars ladies. The illustrations look so beautiful, from what I’ve seen, I really, really need to pick this up. I love learning anything and everything I can about Star Wars so this is definitely a must for me!

Fire and Blood by George RR Martin

Image result for george rr martin fire and blood

GRRM has finally released a book relating to ASOIAF. It’s no Winds of Winter… unfortunately. BUT IT WILL DO. I love House Targaryen so I cannot wait to learn more about their history. It’s a pretty thick book and it has illustrations!! Excited!

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

This has been on my TBR ever since it was announced, yet I do not own it yet. I have no idea why I haven’t read and bought this (and its sequel) but I just haven’t. I seriously need to, it sounds amazing. Everyone raves about it and I know I’ll love it too.

This week’s topic is: Books You Want to Read Before 2019

In no particular order:

Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor

38525180

After reading Strange the Dreamer, I am excited to get into this book! I adore Laini’s writing and I’m sure I’m going to love it!

The Silver Queen by Josie Jaffrey

42088730

The first book of this series surprised me, I really enjoyed it. I cannot wait to dive back into this world to see what happens next, the first did leave off on a bit of a cliffhanger!

Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

36642458

Brandon Sanderson?? Need I say more? He’s one of my favourite authors and I adore his books. I love sci-fi and I cannot wait to read this!

The Girl King by Mimi Yu

41832496
I was so so lucky to be sent an ARC of this; so I definitely want to get to this before it comes out in January. It sounds so good and the cover is beautiful!

The Dark Vault by V.E Schwab

41564017

After reading V.E. Schwab for the first time this year I am looking forward to reading more of her work! I loved Vicious and I’m sure The Dark Vault will be great as well. I was lucky enough to be asked to review this and I couldn’t say no after reading Vicious and Vengeful – they were so good!

Largest Books on My TBR | Top 5 Wednesday

top5weds
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme, GoodReads group here with all the topics + discussion!
This week’s topic is: Largest Books on TBR

Surprisingly, I don’t have many big books on my TBR. I was going to make this list all the books over 500 pages from my owned TBR but it turns out; I don’t have enough. hahaha
I’m not one to shy away from big books so, I’m actually a bit shocked. I kept the books as near to 500 pages as I could find.

Starting with the largest:

1) The Dark Vault by V.E. Schwab – 697 pages

Image result for The Dark Vault: Unlock the Archive
This will actually be my next read! I’m so excited to read more VE Schwab after reading her Villains duology! This is technically two books but it’s a bind up so it’s pretty big!

2) Muse of Nightmares By Laini Taylor – 514 pages

Image result for muse of nightmares
Hopefully, I’ll get to this soon. I enjoyed Strange the Dreamer even though it was slow and took me ages to read. I’ve heard nothing but good things about this so I can’t wait to read it!

3) Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell – 529 pages

Image result for cloud atlas book cover

This has been on my TBR for a while. It’s pretty big but the font is SO tiny; I always put off reading it for that reason. It sounds good but confusing and I’ve heard mixed things about it. No idea when I’ll get around to picking this up.

4) Magnus Chase The Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan 497 pages

15724396
I meant to read this back in the summer, I feel like it would be best read then; since summer is literally in the title. *Hopefully* I will pick it up next spring/summer.

5) The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani – 488 pages

42080479
This is a fairly recent addition to my TBR but I am hoping to get to this soon; when I’m next in the mood for a middle grade/ light-hearted read. I’ve heard good things about this series and I’m excited to start it!

Have you read any of these books? Let me know what you think if you have!

Also, let me know the biggest book on your TBR!

Books I Want to Read Before the End of the Year | Top 5 Wednesday

top5weds

Happy Wednesday!
Since I plan on posting a lot over the summer, I realised I’d run out of blog post ideas pretty quickly.  So I decided I’m going to start doing Top 5 Wednesdays. I don’t know if I will do them every single week but I’ll be doing whenever I like the topic!
*Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme, GoodReads group here with all the topics!

1) Strange The Dreamer by Laini Taylor

dsc_1473.jpgUntil recently (literally days ago), I didn’t own this book but wanted (desperately) to read it. I had been on the lookout for the UK hardback for ages and couldn’t get ahold of it. Luckily, someone on twitter didn’t want their copy and so we did a trade.
Finally, I can now read Strange the Dreamer! I will be picking this up asap in anticipation of Muse of Nightmares, I love Laini Taylor’s writing and previous series so I have no doubts that I’ll love this too.

2) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

dsc_1410.jpgThis is on my list of classics to get to this year, I really want to read this over the summer. I have no idea if it actually is summery but I’m saying it is!
I also really want to watch the BBC miniseries, so I need to read this asap so I can binge watch that afterwards!

3) The Hobbit by J.R.R TolkienIMG_20180523_160150_342.jpgUnpopular opinion:  I think Tolkien is overrated. I’ve read the first two Lord of the Rings books and honestly can’t see what the fuss is about. I found them to be pretty boring so I’ve been putting off reading The Hobbit. I found this gorgeous edition, which did make me want to read it more but I’m still worried I’m not going to like it.

4) Obsidio by Amie Kaufman + Jay Kristoff

a1pvpszw7nl
Obsidio was one of my most anticipated releases for 2018, why haven’t I read it yet? I have no idea. But now I feel like I should reread the first two, as I read them ages ago before I start this one and I’ve been putting it off. Sigh.

5) Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas

9781408872918Another anticipated release, that hasn’t actually been released yet and I can guarantee as soon as I get my hands on this I will be reading it. I am dying to know how this series ends, it’s going to be a big book too, so I’ll be disappearing for a week when this comes out.
