December TBR | Blogmas Day #2

Hey guys!
Welcome to Blogmas Day #2!
I don’t usually do TBR’s – mainly because I am a huge mood reader but I do have a few books I really want to get to this month! Which are:

My True Love Gave to Me edited by Stephanie Perkins

Every year I say to myself I’m going to read a Christmasy/festive book in December and I never do. So this year I am! I managed to get a copy of this second hand (aka super cheap) so I am finally going to read something festive!

Starsight by Brandon Sanderson

And of course, I want to read Starsight, which came out last month. This isn’t as big as I expected so hopefully I’ll be able to start & finish it this month. I am super excited for this book, Skyward left off on such a good cliffhanger. I cannot wait to see where the story goes in this one!

The Burning White by Brent Weeks

If I have time (please let me have time) I’ll read this, one of my most anticipated reads of the year. I’ve been putting this off since I’m in slight denial that this is the last Lightbringer book. It’s over 900 pages long, with uni being cray busy I just haven’t had time to pick this up yet.

What’s on your TBR this month?

US vs UK Book Covers #2: Special/Collector’s Editions | Blogmas Day #1

Hey guys!
I’m back with another UK vs US Book Covers! I love these kinds of posts/videos, so I thought I’d do another. Check out my first post here! This time I’m going to be comparing special/collector’s editions.
(UK on the left, US on the right)

A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin

I’m sorry but what is the US cover?!
I own the UK one and it’s INSANELY gorgeous in real life. It’s one of my favourite books (lookswise) and I adore. The US one? Um… No.  That colour is not working for me. It looks a bit tacky.
Winner: UK

Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas

These are both pretty similar; both are pretty.
The UK one WHY NO SLIPCASE? I like the UK one but I have to give it to the US one because the slipcase and the design just looks better. I own the US version for this reason. I wanted the slipcase!

Winner: US

Vicious by V.E. Schwab

One of my favourite books!
I love the UK one. It’s so pretty but so is the US. I think both covers fit the story so well.
I think both are equally beautiful and I would love to get my hands on the US version too.

Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb

I haven’t read this but it’s on my TBR. I saw these covers on twitter and I drooled. They are so PRETTY! Like wow. Obviously, both are nearly identical and I can’t comment on how the cover fits with the story since I haven’t read it. I like the colours of the UK one better.

Winner: UK

The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas

Another book I haven’t read but is on my (endless) TBR.
I’m sorry but I HATE real people/photographs on fiction books. It is my #1 pet peeve. I don’t like the colours on the UK version either. It’s just not great.
The US one is cute! I think it looks more enticing to read than the UK cover. It definitely looks more YA than the UK cover which gives adult vibes to me…
+ I think the gold foil cover is very pretty!

Winner: US

What do you think? Do you agree/disagree with the winners I chose?
Let me know your opinion!
