Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme, GoodReads group here with all the topics + discussion!
This week’s topic is: Nostalgic Ships
I’m going to keep to strictly books, or this list will be endless. I wasn’t a reader as a kid, at all. I didn’t start enjoying reading til I was in my teens and wouldn’t say I become an avid reader til probably 2017. So, some of these are fairly ‘recent’ by some peoples standards!
1) Lyra + Will – His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
I think, the first fantasy books I read and will forever have a place in my heart. So will Lyra + Will. If you’ve read these then you’ll understand my heart ache. Won’t giveaway spoilers though. But their relationship- *sheds tear*
2) Katsa + Po – Graceling by Kristin Cashore
One of the first series I read because of BookTube! I would love to reread these books, so wish there were more of them! I love Kat + Po, so adorable!
It has been a while since I read Graceling, definitely due a reread, but I remember swooning over Katsa + Po fondly!
3) Percy and Annabeth – Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan
Percy and Annabeth are such an adorable couple. I’m glad their relationship didn’t take over the series but it was still a lovely touch!
4) Jon Snow + Ygritte – A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin
Weirdly, one of the first fantasy series I ever read was A Song of Ice and Fire, talk about jumping in the deep end?! I was like 16!!? Loved it but damn.
There’s a lot of ships I could’ve picked but the one that always touched me the most is Jon + Ygritte.
5) Hanna + Nik – Gemina by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
Sequel to Illuminae, I could’ve gone with Kady + Ezra but Gemina I liked better, as far as I can remember, I preferred Hanna + Nik also. Though I don’t remember much, need to reread asap, I shipped them hard.
Let me know some of your Nostalgic Ships! Comment below, I’d love to know!
