Monthly Wrap Up | January 2019

Hey guys! I’m so sorry I haven’t been active lately!
January has been the longest month ever! A new semester of uni started for me and I’m trying to get back into the swing of things after having 6 weeks off. It’s fair to say I am tired as hell! And I’m still in a bit of a reading slump. *sigh* Didn’t read as much as I wanted but oh well. I have a lot of reading to do for uni, so unfortunately, pleasure reading takes the backseat.

This first book I finished was *The Girl King by Mimi Yu.
I was lucky enough to be sent an arc and be apart of the blog tour for this! It wasn’t as good as I expected but it was still enjoyable!

The next book I finished was an audiobook: Cinder by Marissa Meyer.
I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did, it really surprised me! I cannot wait to continue the series. Sadly, I have to wait for the next audiobook to become available at my library. *sigh*

Next, I finished The Wicked King by Holly Black. I fully expected to devour this and love it. It was so hyped I couldn’t wait to get stuck in. But, unfortunately, I didn’t find it all the great. It definitely wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing.

The last book I finished was for uni and it was The Psychopathology of Everyday Life by Sigmund Freud. I study English Literature, however, I did a bit of psychology in college but I have yet to find out its relevance to English Lit. Guess I’ll have to wait for my lectures!
It was just ok. It was interesting in parts but quite rambly. It’s a book of examples, too many examples to prove each point. I got sick of it by the end.

Favourite book of the month: Cinder By Marissa Meyer!

I’ve had too many good reads this month to only pick one! I’m so glad you enjoyed Cinder, I really love The Lunar Chronicles series, I hope you enjoy the rest of them too!
