Best Books of 2018 (So Far)|Top 5 Wednesday

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme, GoodReads group here with all the topics + discussion!
This weeks topic is; Best Books You’ve Read So Far in 2018

This list is in no particular order, they’re all great in their own way and I don’t think I could possibly rank them! All these books have a 4 Star rating or above.
The most surprising things; there’s 3 audiobooks and a classic on this list, which is crazy for me, I only started listening to audiobooks last year but have been enjoying them hugely this year! And a classic?! Madness.

1)  Jane Eyre
So far, this is the only classic I’ve read that I can honestly say I loved. I adored this book, it has become one of my all-time favourite books and definitely the best classic I’ve read thus far. I gave Jane Eyre 5/5 Stars!

2) Spellslinger by Sebastien De Castell

33291466The first audiobook of this list. This book (and series) is such a great YA fantasy story, I loved everything about this book and the narrator was great! I also listened to the second book on audio and loved it too! I was lucky enough to receive an arc of the third book but I would definitely listen to the audiobook in the future! I gave Spellslinger 5/5 Stars!

3) The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

_20180328_140954.JPGAnother audiobook but a surprising genre, for me. I never usually read mystery books, however, this sparked my interest and I ended up loving it! It’s definitely a hard one to keep up with and requires a lot of concentration but it’s worth it!
I gave The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle 4.5/5 Stars!

4) Hold Back The Stars by Katie Khan

_20180326_172550.JPGThe third and final audiobook on this list, this one is a sci-fi romance that completely had me hooked from the beginning. I devoured this book, I could not stop listening.
I gave Hold Back the Stars 4.5/5 Stars!

5) Brightly Burning by Alexa Donne

After falling in love with Jane Eyre I was super excited to get to some Jane Eyre retellings and this one intrigued me the most as it is a sci-fi retelling. I was worried it wouldn’t work but in my opinion, it worked great!
I gave Brightly Burning 4.5/5 Stars!

Let me know some of the best books you’ve read so far this year! I am always looking for recommendations!

  1. I remember loving Jane Eyre in high school and bought the exact edition you posted to reread sometime this year. I have Spellslinger but haven’t gotten to it yet!

    Happy reading!

  2. I have tried to read Jane Eyre three times and I haven’t been able to read more than a few chapters, it’s not that I find anything wrong with the book, it’s just that it doesn’t hold my attention and I’m not sure why. But I’ll definitely try to read it again in the future. I also want to read The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, because I have heard so many good things about it. Great post! 💗
